Avoid overdischarge
Overdischarge will shorten the life of battery. You must avoid driving until the very moment that a vehicle can no longer move.
Avoid overcharging
Over charging will cause the short life of the battery. That battery must be charged by proper method.
Avoid over-heating of the battery
Always keep the temperature of the electrolyte below 60°C while charging.
Keep the electrolyte level at proper height
Electrolyte level gradually lowers during service. When the electrolyte level Decreases, fill in purified water at once.
Use of fire strictly prohibited
Since hydrogen and oxygen are released through the vent plugs of the battery always keep battery free from fire.
Keep the battery dry and clean
Keep the outside of the battery clean and dry to prevent leakage and corrosion.
Handling Precautions
Operating Environment
The battery generates hydrogen gas. Thus, using or charging the battery in the following environments is strictly prohibited. Otherwise property damage, fire hazards, or explosions due to flashing can result. Places where fire is used Closed or ill-ventilated places Your special attention is required while charging and for 30 minutes following charging.
Cleaning the Battery
As mentioned above, the battery gengerates hydrogen gas. It is therefore requested that you observe the followng rules when cleaning the battery. Otherwise explosions due to flashing can result. (a) Don’t try connect the + end and – end of the battery using a tool or the like. (b) Whenever cleaning the battery, make sure to use a piece of wet cloth. Use of dry cloth must be avoided. The battery surface or connections must be protected fom stains or contamination by foreign substance. Otherwise electric leakage can result, leading to flashing. Be sure to maintain a clean, dry battery by removing stains and foreign substances using wet cloth.
Disconnecting the Plug
Whenever disconnecting the plug, make sure to turn off the vehicle’s key switch as well a s the charger’s switch. Otherwise explosions due to flashing can result from the sparks.
